Desiderata Wall Hanging
DESIDERATA WALL HANGING - by Fayes Threads
Faye has created something truly special with this beautiful Desiderata Wall Hanging
Do you remember ‘Desiderata,’ the inspirational prose poem narrated by Les Crane? With dulcet voice, sung refrains, and instrumental accompaniment, Crane won the best spoken-word Grammy for his 1971 recording.
Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) wrote this magical and inspirational piece in 1927. His philosophical words and wisdom formed part of his search for social truth and peace. ‘Desiderata’ conveys a message that will never age.
Are you a Child of the Universe? I certainly am!
I intended the design to be a wall hanging; however, it could also be a table runner or inserted into a patchwork quilt. Do whatever inspires you!
Three hoop sizes included: 5x7 6x10 & 8x12

REQUIRED MATERIALS

You will also need four thread colours - one colour for the stipple filling (this should be as close to the fabric colour as possible); another for the title; a third for the scrolls; and the fourth for the text.
I chose a neutral cotton fabric. For the words I chose threads that would stand out from the fabric. For the borders and backing fabrics I chose fabrics to compliment my thread colours.
